I Got the YoliGlo Tatcha Facial Influencers are Obsessed With
She’s known as Tatcha’s “fairy glow-mother” and her hands have worked on some of the most famous faces in the world from A-listers to influencers like James Charles and Patrick Starr. If you’ve seen an Instagram of them with a purple face mask on, odds are it’s courtesy of esthetician Yolanda Mata, also known by her Instagram handle YoliGlo. And I recently got to experience her magic hands for myself.
When it was time for my YoliGlo Tatcha facial, Yoli welcomed me into her home with homemade tea (her mother’s recipe) and an impressive snack spread. I opted for a facial at Yoli’s place, but she also does house calls. We relaxed on her couch and talked all things skincare before moving on to the facial.
Yoli’s hands are the MVP of the facial. There are no crazy tools or machines and all the products Yoli uses are from Tatcha with the exception of a homemade magical acne potion and some essential oils during the neck massage.
The first step of the facial is the Camellia Oil Cleanser which removed all the makeup, dirt, and oil from my face. She followed it with the Rice Polish Enzyme Powder which is a gentle exfoliant made of Japanese rice bran. I like that it’s non-abrasive and gentle enough to use daily. Once my face was totally clean, Yoli saw my skin in all it’s glory. That got her excited at the “gifts” I brought her. Oh, if only I considered my acne as “gifts”…
Then there was the Kissu Lip Mask (currently sold out) and a quick jade rolling session before we moved onto my “gifts.” Yoli spent a good chunk of our time together on extractions. She evicted those suckers and topped the spots with her homemade acne potion.
She even did extractions in my ears, which was great, but also nasty. Yoli said the buildup in my ears (gross) was yeast (gross-er). I learned it’s from eating a lot of fermented foods. So if you drink a lot of kombucha or are like me and love kimchi, your ears might need some serious TLC.
After the extractions it was time for the Insta-famous Violet-C Radiance Mask. She painted on a thick layer of the mask which treats dullness, uneven texture, dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. My skin soaked up its goodness while Yoli gave me a neck and shoulder massage.
Next was the Camellia Beauty Oil which she used for a lymphatic drainage massage with the Tatcha Akari Gold Massagers. She followed that with The Essence and the new Violet-C Vitamin C Brightening Serum. I was so excited for her to use this on me because I love all things vitamin C. This serum has a unique blend of vitamin C that’s stabilized with Japanese beautyberry. The fruit AHA’s treat dull and uneven skin while Japanese angelic root reduce dark spots and acne scarring. I’ve been using this serum since the and can officially say it’s fabulous and I’m obsessed.
The Dewy Skin Cream came next, followed by the Firming Eye Serum, Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen and the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. The last step was the Camellia Goldspun Lip Balm. It’s basically a 23 karat gold kiss to seal the deal.
Five minutes with Yoli and you totally understand the hype. Talking to her feels like talking to an old friend. I could’ve spent hours there talking to her and listening to her stories. And that glow she’s famous for? It’s real. I left with a huge smile and skin that was healthy and hydrated. Her facials start at $500, so they’re definitely an investment, but what better to invest in than your skin?
