Eye Cream: The Dos and Don'ts to Follow
The skin around your eyes is the most thin and delicate skin on your face, so it makes sense that cream meant specifically for this area exists. But what if you’re not using it right? Here are our dos and don’ts on eye cream:
DO:
Use an eye cream or gel under heavy makeup. It’ll keep the area hydrated and prevent creasing.
Apply eye cream or gel only on your orbital and brow bone.
Use your ring finger to apply eye cream. It’s the weakest finger, so it’ll help you be more gentle.
DON’T:
Apply eye cream or gel on eyelids or on the skin directly under your eyes because the product travels and could get in your eye, causing irritation and puffiness.
Confuse eye creams for eye patches—eye patches are great for calming puffiness around your eyes before applying makeup, but they’re typically not very moisturizing.
