The Serum That Convinced Me to Follow a Full-Body Skincare Routine
While my skincare routine includes slathering anti-aging serum onto my face twice daily, it never occurred to me to treat the rest of my epidermis with the same meticulous regimen. Enter Kayo Better Body Care, a semi-new line of "face-grade" serums, moisturizers, and oils that go above and beyond your typical body lotions. (Fun fact: the brand was co-founded by our fitness friend, Christine Bullock.)
As part of my post-baby skin recovery, I've been using several of the brand's products fairly regularly, including the Body Beautiful Creme, the Vitamin Boost, and the Concentrated Slimming Serum. But on days (read: most of them) when I don't have time to apply everything (preferably post-shower when product gets soaked up the most), the one item I never skip is the Daily Remodeling Serum ($46).
Like the rest of the label's products, this antioxidant-rich serum is formulated without yucky stuff like parabens, pthalates, and other harmful chemicals — but that's not the only reason why my sensitive skin loves it. In addition to copper peptides, hyaluronic acid, and "Kayo's omega oil blend," the serum also contains acai, green tree, noni, gogi, pomegranate, and mangosteen extracts. The result: hydrated, smooth, and even-looking skin, something that my post-pregnancy body has been lacking.
The next step in my new body care regimen? Getting back onto a fitness routine (to help that Concentrated Slimming Serum really work its magic) in time for beach season. I'll be working on my tank top arms and following along the Last 5 Fitness video below:
