4 Healthy and Simple Tips to Start Your Day
The way you start your day can make a huge impact on the rest of your day (or week, month, year, life, etc). Just think about those mornings you woke up late and how the rest of the day felt frazzled and completely thrown off. But there are certain habits you can pick up that'll really make a difference in your healthy, weight, and overall well-being. I share four that personally work great for me below!
Make Your Bed
I know you probably weren't expecting this as a tip, but making your bed has a huge impact on the rest of your day. I can honestly say from personal experience that making my bed every morning helped me make positive choices the rest of the day – from choosing to workout to eating healthy meals.
Also, it's a piece of advice that US Navy Admiral William H. McRaven gave during a commencement speech at the University of Texas. He says, “It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.”
Work Out...in Bed
Same with making your bed, experts say morning workouts can help you make better choices for the rest of the day. Personally, if I don't work out in the morning, I'm less likely to work out at all that day. (After a long, exhausting day, a workout just seems impossible.) But if getting to the gym is too much, there are some moves you can do while you're still in bed. Watch this video from fitness expert Christine Bullock to see what they are!
Drink Apple Cider Vinegar
People swear by apple cider vinegar for countless reasons, but for me, the stand outs are: it helps you lose weight, it aids digestion, and it can help prevent acne. I mix a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, a cup of water, half a lemon, and a pinch of cayenne pepper together and drink it first thing in the morning. As with the previous tips, I believe that drinking ACV every morning helps me make better choices for the rest of the day.

Drink a Green Smoothie
One of the first things holistic nutritionist Kelly LeVeque recommends to her clients is to add what she calls a "Be Well Smoothie" into their diet. Ever since we started working with her on our Mixed Makeup Wellness channel, I drink her green smoothie recipe or something along those lines as my breakfast. It's specifically formulated to keep you feeling full and satisfied until your next meal.
