Contouring Mistakes to Avoid and How to Fix Them
Although we've previously shared our simple secrets to on-the-go contouring, we know how easy it is for busy (or beginning!) beauty buffs to fall into makeup mess-ups. In our latest episode of The Cut with Susan Yara, we reveal the eight most common contouring mistakes — and how to avoid them! Here, we're giving a sneak peek at a few of our top takeaways, but you'll have to watch the video for the full list of contouring tips and mistakes to avoid.
Don't: Ignore your face shape Do: Contour accordingly, for example: round faces should contour under the cheekbones, along the temples, on the side of the forehead, and along the jawline, while heart-shaped faces should focus on the forehead, below the cheeks, and the tip of the chin, to name a few.
Don't: Skimp on skincare! Do: Prep your face with moisturizer — good skincare is always the best primer.
Don't: Use the wrong brush Do: Contour with an angled brush with loose bristles; a brush with tight bristles might build too much color in one area.
