7 New Mascaras to Pump Up Your Lashes

Susan Posnick COLORCOATED Mascara ($24)

This mascara will give you those fluffy, full daytime lashes. It still looks great for a night out, but it has a really natural look. It's almost like you had your lashes tinted and then some. The bristles on the wand are super short, so it helps you really get in there to comb through each lash from the root to the tip. It stays on throughout the day, but I find it really easy to wash off with your regular cleanser, which is always appreciated. It also contains a fortifying complex that stimulates lash growth for those who want long lashes when it comes off too.
Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Supreme Mascara ($25)

I've been a Laura Mercier fan for years, but it wasn't until recently that I decided to try one of her mascaras. It turns out, I had been missing out. This one promises volume, length and to curl your lashes as it sculpts. And you know what? It's not a lie. Two coats is all I need to get lashes that say, "BAM" when I walk into a room. It never looks clumpy and I really love that my lashes feel soft the entire day, instead of crispy. And bonus--it's water resistant, so it stays on when it's humid out, yet comes off easily with cleanser. It's a must-buy mascara for everyday use and gets two emphatic thumbs up from me!
Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara ($23)

I'd call this one a "one coat wonder." Usually, I apply about three coats because I love to have my lashes be the focal point on my face, but after I do just one coat with this mascara I always contemplate on whether I need to keep going. I usually do, but only because I'm intense like that. Plus, I have to say that I've received more compliments on my lashes while wearing this mascara than I have with any other one.
It really lengthens and thickens lashes in just one go. The brush is pretty unique too. It has short, dense bristles that volumize and coats each lash, as well as long, comb-like bristles that lengthen and separate your lashes to prevent clumps. It contains ingredients like provitamin B5, beeswax and mineral pigments that condition your lashes. But just a note, you do need an oil-based cleanser or one that's made to remove eye makeup because it can be a little tough to get off with a regular cleanser.
Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes ($29)

Wow, wow, wow. That's what I think when I apply this mascara to my lashes. It really fattens them up and gives them a dramatic, glossy look--it's as if I'm wearing faux lashes. I love it for a dramatic evening look (and I'm sure the legendary Charlotte Tilbury herself had that goal in mind since she works on celebrities for the red carpet). The formula is a dark black color and feels smooth as you apply it. There's something about it that makes you want to apply more and more coats for an amped up look, but I warn, since it thickens lashes, it can get clumpy if you go too far. Take your foot off the gas and you'll love this mascara.
Benefit Roller Lash ($24)

I have to admit that the very first time I tried this mascara, I was disappointed. However, I'm very stubborn so I gave it another try and, wow, now I see what all the hype is about. It's one of those mascaras that needs a little air for it to get really good (like many mascaras). I'm not sure why that happens so often, but it does. Just power through it with this one because it's worth it. I love that it was inspired by hair rollers and has a "hook'n'roll" brush that curls and lifts the lashes. See below...
See all the little hooks on the bristles? Cool right? It really does hook on to each lash to completely coat and separate them. Definitely no clumps here. It also promises to stay on and keep your lashes curled for up to 12 hours. This one is especially perfect for those who have short lashes, straight lashes, or small eyes. Plus, the packaging is so gosh darn cute, and who doesn't love that?
Wet n Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara ($5)

I went into using this mascara with low expectations. I mean, how much can you expect from five dollars these days? But as I applied it, I was immediately impressed. It has a shiny black color and it coats and thickens every lash. It does what it says it does--gives you thicker-looking, voluminous lashes. Plus, it conditions your lashes with antioxidants like macadamia nut, jojoba, and olive oil, as well as strengthens them with D-Panthenol. If you're in the market for a budget-friendly mascara, you definitely get more bang for your buck with this one. Give it a try!
L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara ($9)

There's nothing better than a drugstore makeup product that impresses with the best. I got this mascara during a makeup swap with my friend MrsJennMarie on YouTube. She told me she loved it, and I now know why. Not only does it lengthen and separate your lashes, but it makes them stand out thanks to the dark pigment of the formula. The brush is really unique and helps you focus on those outer lashes to create a fluttery look (hence the name) and for less than $10, you can stock up on this baby for a long time. Who doesn't love that?
