2015 Pantone Color of the Year: Marsala
Marsala. No longer just a tasty bottle of wine or pasta dish, it's now the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year. It's not completely unexpected due to the fact that the '90s are back in a big way and let's be honest here, if there was a color, specifically in beauty, that embodies the decade, Marsala is it.
"Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors."
